Power Smart Home Programs

  • Appli­ance Program (rebates end March 31, 2009)
    For a limited time, customers who purchase ENERGY STAR chest freezers and/or clothes washers are eligible to receive rebates on their energy bill.
  • Earth Power Program (Geothermal Heat Pumps) (loan is ongoing)
    Geothermal heat pumps are an alternative to conventional heating and cooling systems. Look here for information on a fixed interest rate loan.
  • Furnace and Boiler Replacement Program (special rebate runs Aug. 5–Oct. 13, 2008)
    Upgrade to a high efficiency natural gas furnace or boiler to become eligible for a $500 rebate on your Manitoba Hydro natural gas bill.
  • Home Comfort & Energy Savings Program – Power Smart Residential Loan (loan is ongoing)
    Seek out multiple ways to achieve home energy savings through loans, evaluations and answers to your home energy comfort questions.
  • Home Insulation Program (rebates are ongoing)
    Upgrade the insulation in your home to Power Smart levels.
  • Light­ing Program (no current rebates)

  • Lower Income Energy Efficiency Program (rebates and loan are ongoing)
    An easy and affordable program that helps qualifying lower income households become more energy efficient.

    Discover how homeowners and R-2000 builders are able to customize energy features of a new house, and certified R-2000 homes are EnerGuide rated and eligible for incentives.
  • New Home Program (ongoing program)
    Build energy efficient technologies into your new home to be Power Smart from the start.
  • Power Smart Home Energy Evalu­ation Services (ongoing program)
    Improve comfort, reduce energy use and save money by evaluating your home’s energy use. Book a Power Smart ecoENERGY In-Home Energy Evaluation or use one of our two other assessment tools.
  • Program­mable Thermo­stat Program (no current rebates)
    Programmable setback thermostats can be one of the least expensive ways to lower your energy bills.
  • W.I.S.E. – Seniors Help­ing Seniors Program (May 1, 2008 to October 10, 2008).
    Manitoba Hydro and the Manitoba Society of Seniors are working together to help Winnipeg seniors 55+ save energy and money.
